Grilled French Dip Burger

Ingredients

  • 1 Omaha Steaks Burger
  • 1 ciabatta sandwich bun
  • 1 teaspoon mayonnaise
  • 2 ounces brie cheese, sliced
  • 3 tablespoons caramelized onions (see Bourbon Onion recipe)
  • 1/2 cup beef au jus*, warmed
  • Omaha Steaks All Natural Seasoning, to taste

Preparation

  1. Prepare caramelized onions ahead of time using Bourbon Onion recipe, omitting the bourbon.
  2. Trim a thin slice of the top and bottom off the ciabatta bun to create a flat surface area. Then slice each bun in half horizontally.
  3. Lightly spread mayonnaise on the outside of the ciabatta bun, to enhance browning.
  4. Place bun, with mayonnaise side down, on grill or in pan. Top each bun with cheese slice to toast bun and melt cheese.
  5. Season burger with All Natural Seasoning or your favorite blend.
  6. Grill, broil or pan-fry burger until internal temperature reaches 160°F.
  7. Top burger with the caramelized onions. Place burger on one of the toasted buns then top with remaining bun.
  8. Cut in half and serve with hot beef au jus for dipping.
