Exercise Options

There are as many types of exercise as there are colors of the rainbow or flavors of ice cream. Exercise can be divided into four major categories, each of which aims to create a specific result:

TYPE OF EXERCISE RESULT
Cardio/endurance Increase your heart rate
Strength/resistance Increase strength of specific muscles
Stretching/flexibility Increase flexibility and help body warm up and cool down before and after the other types of exercise
Balance Improve the body’s ability to balance and prevent falls

NOTE: Always talk with your doctor before beginning an exercise program. very type of exercise is not appropriate for all people, especially if you have high blood pressure, heart disease or diabetes. And it’s important that you start slowly with any physical activity.
