Medicaid
Medicaid is a program created to provide medical benefits for groups of low income people meeting specific criteria. If you have both Medicare and Medicaid most if not all of your health care costs will be covered. In some cases, Medicaid offers additional benefits not covered by Medicare (nursing facility care past the 100 day limit covered by Medicare, prescription drugs, eyeglasses, and hearing aids). Under Medicaid you will not have to pay premiums, deductibles, and in most cases, co-pays. Although there are standard guidelines established by the Federal government, each state is responsible for setting forth official guidelines regarding services and eligibility.
